Make sure the tucks are the same direction. When you sew the bias tape, make sure to start at the very end. A few weeks ago we gave you a pocket face mask for both kids and adults that has become very popular.

Starting at the center of the bottom edge, sew around the edges of the fabric leaving about 1.5” to 2” open.

Cut 2 pieces of elastic, each 7″ long. Then, cut 2 pieces of elastic, each 6″ long. Make sure to tuck that part of the raw edge into the bias tape.

Do this for the top and bottom of the mask.

To be very specific, that’s a total of four knots (two for each tie). Pick up the mask by the ties or straps with clean hands and attach it securely to your child's face. Be sure that the mask fits snugly but that your child can still breathe effectively.

If you can’t find skinny elastic, you can cut wide ones.

Fold the strip in half by the long edges with the wrong sides together. Take the measurement you just got and add 1. For an adult size mask, cut 1 fabric rectangle 16″ long and 8.5″ wide.

Make ties using bias tape or fabric.

I’m sharing how you can make a kids face mask, as well as any other size you will need!! (thank you for that!) it can be made with ties or elastics. Fold down the top edge of the fabric strip and bring it down to meet the middle line you just made with your iron.

Using a string, piece of rope, or measuring tape if you are lucky enough to have one, start at the bridge of the nose and measure to 1 inch under the peak of the chin.

Fold the sides of the mask, tie the straps and you’d be able to adjust the size of the mask easily. This face mask has a filter pocket and a metal piece f. Cut 9” x 6” (adult) or 7.5” x 5” (child) 2.
